I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Hello everyone, I wanted to update you about 2 recent robberies, one being on the Broadway where a mobile phone was taken and the other being an attempted robbery on Monkhams Avenue. We understand that this may cause concern, and we want to reassure you that an arrest has been made and we are increasing patrols in the affected areas. In the meantime, here are some simple steps you can take to help keep yourself and your belongings safe: -Be aware of your surroundings -Keep valuables out of sight when possible -Avoid walking with your phone in hand for long periods of time, particularly where thieves on bikes or e-scooters may target people. -Record your IMEI number and enable tracking so your device can be tracked or blocked if stolen -Report any suspicious behaviour to us or in the case of an emergency dial 999. We're here to help and keep our community safe. Thank you.
